Hongbao envelopes (Red Envelopes) are gifted to children during the Lunar New Year. They symbolize good luck and prosperity. Color, cutout and assemble a hongbao YOU can give to someone.

Classic Scrunched Tissue Heart
Scrunch up colorful little pieces of tissue paper, then glue them onto a red card stock heart.
Paint a masterpiece (or just a silly mess) using paint brushes made from pine needles.
A twigcicle is an icicle made from a tree twig and decorated with shiny things. Make one in The Studio this week!

Swirl blue and white tempera paint on paper. Sprinkle with salt and glitter to achieve a sparkling effect.
We’re experimenting with two types of “snow.” One: baking soda and hair conditioner create a fluffy, snow-like material. Two: Insta-snow is a superabsorbent polymer (found in baby diapers!) that expands to 100 times its original volume. Which do you prefer?
Slip pine needles into a bottle filled with water. Add pinches of glitter and confetti snowflakes, then seal. Give your bottle a shake and watch the glittery snowstorm!
Choose a pinecone, dip it into paint and print onto natural cardstock. Do you see different patterns develop? How do different colors blend?

Corn Husk Sunflower
Sunflowers are bright beautiful flowers that like to bloom in Fall. To make a craft sunflower, glue strips of dry corn husk to the back edge of a cardstock circle. Coat the front side of the circle with glue and sprinkle with sunflower seeds.

Pinecone Ear of Corn
Stuff colorful pompoms as corn kernels between the scales of a pinecone. Glue raffia to the top of the little ear of corn to represent corn silk.
Fall Crayon Leaf Imprints

Place a leaf under a sheet of paper and rub the paper with a black crayon. Using watercolor paints, add a touch of color and dimension.

Fall Leaf-Glitter Trees
Use your hands to mash up crunchy Fall leaves. Spread glue on the branches of a tree template then sprinkle the glue with the natural glitter.

Scary Wooden Mummy
Glue wiggly eyes onto the back of a wooden spoon. Wrap your spoon with strips of gauze. Make sure you don’t cover your mummy’s eyes!
Pumpkin Seed Mosaic
