Meet a big brown bat and a long-eared owl! Pacific Wildlife Care will join us to share what these critters get up to in the colder months. Pacific Wildlife Care’s mission is to support San Luis Obispo County wildlife through rehabilitation and educational outreach.

Pinecone Snowy Owl

Choose a pinecone and cover it with fluffy stuff. Glue on eyes, wings and a beak to make a regal snowy owl.
Narwhal Clay Sculpture

Mold a narwhal, known as the unicorn of the sea, from air drying clay. Take it home – with care – to dry completely.
Paint a Polar Bear’s Fur

Did you know that polar bears have black skin under their white fur? Use white paint and a plastic fork to create a furry face on black paper. Add a muzzle, nose, ears and eyes.
New Year’s Eve Noisemaker

Ring in the new year with a golden jingle bell wand.

Decorate a paper gingerbread man with ribbons, beads, gems, glitter and other shiny things!

Use a pipette to drip colorful paint onto a pinecone.
Frosted Luminaria

Light up a wintery night with a frosted luminaria. Coat a glass jar with glue and glittery “snow,” then add a tea light and greenery.
Tiny Gnome Puppet

Create a silly little holiday gnome with a pointy hat and a looong white beard.
Put together a scarecrow ornament using a wood slice, wiggly eyes, a rhinestone nose and a felt-tip smile! Decorate his hat with straw, flowers and paint, then hang him up!

Paint a pumpkin design orange. Before the paint dries, layer rows of pumpkin seeds to achieve a bumpy texture. The paint acts like glue!
Select an apple we’ve placed on a stick. Lightly dip it into red paint then stamp it onto a picture of a tree branch. You just made an apple tree with an apple!

Create a lil mummy using simple craft supplies.
Expect the unexpected at our annual adults-only adventure! Dress as your favorite character from any of the Willy Wonka movies and prepare yourself for a strange evening of silent disco dancing, exploring, playing, bidding, dining and wine-ing.
Magnetic Slime and a Hanging Spider Web, too!

First, investigate magnetic slime. It’s REALLY strange. Also, make a very clever hanging spider web to house a (realistic plastic) spider.
Leaf-Painted Ghosts

A leaf becomes a little ghost with the addition of paint and eyes.
Knuckle Pumpkins

Knuckles dipped in paint and rolled onto paper make a pumpkin shape! Add a stem & vines with markers.

We will work together to paint a tree branch using colorful paint.
Fizzy Dragon Egg
